Maamoul with Fork & Spoon Ghee

The traditional Eid dessert that reflects elegance and simplicity, made with a soft dough filled with dates or nuts, melting in the mouth thanks to Fork & Spoon vegetable ghee which gives it a balanced flavor and delicate texture.

🥘 Ingredients

  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 cup fine semolina
  • 1 cup Fork & Spoon vegetable ghee, melted
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • ½ cup warm milk (optional for softness)
  • 1 tsp rose water or vanilla
  • 1 cup date paste or ground nuts for filling

👩🏻‍🍳 Preparation Steps

  1. In a large bowl, mix the flour, semolina, and sugar well.
  2. Add the melted Fork & Spoon vegetable ghee and knead until you get a crumbly dough similar to wet sand.
  3. Add rose water and milk gradually until a soft, shapeable dough forms.
  4. Shape small balls, fill them with dates or nuts, and press them into a maamoul mold to create the decorative pattern.
  5. Arrange them on a parchment-lined tray and bake at 180°C until golden (15–20 minutes).
  6. Dust with powdered sugar after they cool slightly.
Tip: Use Fork & Spoon ghee in the filling as well to enhance the rich flavor and soft texture.
